Meet Aaron, Democratic Nominee

Aaron is a lifelong Middle Tennessean, and is the 8th generation of his family to live in Williamson County. He is also an actively licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA), and works primarily as a financial accounting manager in the private sector.

Aaron has been married to Lynn for 15 years and together they have two children in Williamson County Schools.

Having talked with several others in our district and county, Aaron feels that not everyone has a representative voice at the table in the Williamson County government. He feels as though listening to those people and being a critical thinker to help develop the policies that make everyone feel safe and comfortable at home.

The County Commissioners are responsible for budgeting the county services for its citizens, and Aaron is committed to keeping Williamson County a desirable place to live, a place where our children receive the highest standard of education, and preserving our natural resources as we responsibly grow this community.

OUR CORE POLICIES

EDUCATION & FUTURE GENERATIONS

BALANCING GROWTH AND PRESERVATION

The most important sought-after aspect of Williamson County for people who move here is our public schools. And our county commission is responsible for allocating funds from the county’s annual budget for Williamson County Schools. We are losing teachers because they cannot afford to live here AND the counties in which they live are paying them more to go work there! As the wealthiest county in Tennessee, this is unacceptable. Our leaders should make the proper decisions to ensure that WCS regains the gold standard status of education in Tennessee.

We all know growth is inevitable, especially with a desirable place to live like Williamson County. At the same time, we should focus that growth around preserving the community that we love. Our local leaders should focus on efficient land use, mixed-use development and compact building design to protect natural resources. We also should look at revitalizing our current structures, support legacy businesses and ensure affordable housing to protect those residents who have lived here the longest.

PEOPLE OVER PROFIT

FUTURE OF WILLIAMSON HEALTH

Our local governments don’t need to operate like a business. Businesses exist for profit for their owners. Governments exist for its people, for service, safety and equity. Affordability is already a huge issue everywhere in this country without trying to privatize our government. The job of local government is to listen to their constituents, rely on their critical thinking skills, and make sound and often tough decisions that provide for the common good of the places they serve.

Recently the Williamson Health board of trustees voted unanimously to sell the hospital to Ascension. After speaking with knowledgeable people on this topic, it's clear to me now that selling for top dollar is the correct move. Tennessee laws no longer requiring Certificate of Need for medical facilities is a huge negative for the future of local hospitals like ours, and I believe the commissioners have no choice but to sell.

Safety is the bedrock of community engagement. We should support our first responders with the training and equipment they need while fostering deep community partnerships that build trust and transparency. Our approach involves data-driven crime prevention and ensuring our justice system remains fair and accountable for every citizen.
